Submission Guidelines
1.Participants can join the competition as an individual or a team.
Each team can have a maximum of only 4 participants.
2.Individuals or teams submitting in the Woodwinds, Brasses or Strings category can also participate in the Percussion Category (Manga Art Specialty).
3.Detailed submission guidelines for Percussion Category - Manga Art are as follow :
- Participants are to join the Percussion Category according to the following :
- Individual (belonging to any Primary Schools)
- Maximum of 4 team members for Secondary/ JC/ ITE/ Tertiary & above

- Individuals or teams submitted in the other categories (Woodwinds, Brasses & Strings) can also participate in the Percussion Category.
- For Primary Schools, your submission must be a ONE-page character design.
- For other levels, your submission must be a self-contained story of not less than 10 or more than 20 pages in length.
- Background designs are preferred.
- Black and white or coloured design entries are allowed.
4.Each entry submitted must be accompanied by the official Submission Form with all the required information typed or written in English and BOLD. Entries with illegible writings or incomplete forms will be automatically disqualified.
5.All entries (exclude Manga Art) must be submitted in CD-ROM or DV Tape only. Label your entry clearly with the following information:
- Title of Work
- Name of School/Institution
6.Entries are suggested to be submitted by registered mail to:

All submissions must be postmarked on or before closing date: 1st December 2008.
7.Entries will be disqualified if it contains blatant or explicit sexual content, grotesque carnage, political or racism propaganda. Insinuations of sexual situations and slaughter are permissible; however, the judges will be extremely critical of unnecessary descriptions and dialogue.
8.All entries are non-returnable.
Participants are responsible for making and retaining backup copies of their entries.
Submission Format
1.All Manga Art entries must be completed in:
- Digital Illustration format or Hand drawn works, scanned and stored in CD-ROM
- Black & white or Coloured
- 300 DPI, JPEG format (Maximum quality)
- A4 sized templates (210 x 297 mm)
2.All Adobe Flash entries must be submitted with these 4 files:
- the original Flash working file (*.fla)
- the completed Flash animation file (*.swf)
- the video version of the Flash animation (*.avi)
- the original fonts used in the Flash animation(*.ttf)
3.All link files for Flash (eg. sound, music, fonts, graphic etc) must be attached with each project.
4.Other animation (ie. using 3D Studio Max) to be rendered as:
- *.avi (compressed in Indeo Video 5.1) or
- *.mov (compressed in sorenson codex quality only)
5.Participants must ensure that all files submitted in the above formats are compressed (if necessary) at the best quality for accurate judging and can be played on all PCs.
6.Duration of the animation must not be more than 5 minutes.
7.Size of animation should be set at 720 x 576 pixels.
8.Each animation should begin with a title and end with a list of credits.
Do remember to give credit to all persons involved in the creation of your animation.
9.All animation submitted must be PC-friendly even if work is done in Apple Macintosh.
Ownership of Intellectual Property
1.All entries must be fully original and should not be copied from other sources. Plagiarized work will be disqualified.
2.It is assumed that all entries are original and are the works and property of the participant, with all rights granted therein. Please give due credits to works from which you have taken reference from.
3.Story adaptation is allowed only for the list of titles under Read! Singapore 08 which entitles participants for an additional 5% bonus marks. For more information on the list of recommended books, please visit http://readsingapore.nlb.gov.sg
4.The participant is responsible for obtaining or clearing necessary copyright issues on usage of copyrighted images, songs and tunes used in the entries. The organizer shall not be liable for any copyright infringement on the part of the participant.
5.All entries submitted will grant CreativeBITS the perpetual and irrevocable right (individually or collectively) to use, reproduce, publish, feature or broadcast part or whole of the entries for any programs, marketing, educational, promotional and publicity purposes.
